Juana I. Marín-Arrese is Professor of English Language and Linguistics at the Complutense University of Madrid. Her research focuses on the domains of evidentiality and modality, with specific interest in cross-linguistic studies on stancetaking and the expression of subjectivity and intersubjectivity in discourse. She will visit the USC to teach a seminar on “Discourse, persuasion and responsibility”; details are as follows:
